Sending communications on Notanant

How to send an email to one or lots of selected members of the volleyball club direct from this website.
If you are a member of the volleyball club and have got a username and password and are logged in you can use this website to email other members directly. The benefit is that everyone keeps their own details up to date so you should have current contact information available. To email an individual go to People Members. Click on the name of the person, and then click on the send a communication to this person button. You can now write the email and it will be sent assuming the recipient is happy about receiving email. To send to more than one person you need to set up a group. Go to People Members again. There are some common groups already set up for teams - you can see these on List Groups. If you want to send to your own group. Select the people you want to email by clicking in the check box to the side of their name. Then click Add to Group. (If the people runs over more than one page click Add to Group before switching to the next page.) Once you have started creating your group on the right hand side of the page View Current Group will be seen. Click here to email the group or to remove people from those you have selected. On the current group at the bottom is an option to send a message to those people selected. Write your message and click submit. You may have to wait a while for the message to be sent, but at the end you will have a message saying either it was successful, or telling you who could not be emailed. If you want to personalise your email add %%name. This will insert the persons first name into the message and make it seem like it is really sent just to them.
