How long did Tiger Woods hold the #1 ranking?

Tiger Woods held the #1 ranking in golf for a total of 683 weeks, or over 13 years, making him the longest-running world number 1 golfer. He first achieved the ranking in June 1997, and held it until October 2010, when Lee Westwood held the top spot. During his time as world number 1, Woods won 14 major championships, including four Masters and four PGA Championships. He also won 81 PGA tour events, the second highest all-time behind Sam Snead. Woods reclaimed the world number one ranking in March 2013, and held it for a further 60 weeks before being overtaken by Adam Scott in May 2014.
